Position Summary:

 The Staffing Specialist I is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting


Responsibilities:

  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, cold outreach, and local partnerships
  • Maintain continuous pipeline for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles
  • Conduct daily outreach to passive and active candidates via phone, email, and social platforms
  • Attend job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives as needed

Full-Cycle Recruiting

  • Manage requisitions from intake to campus hand off
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, urgency, and ideal candidate profiles
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone/video interviews, and assess candidate fit
  • Coordinate interviews, feedback, and next steps
  • Prepare and extend offers in alignment with compensation guides

Hiring Support and Compliance

  • Ensure candidates complete all required application and pre-employment steps
  • Maintain accurate documentation and status updates in the ATS/HRIS and all trackers
  • Ensure recruiting practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Experience recruiting across multiple job families (faculty, skilled trades, construction)
  • Knowledge of employment laws and hiring practices
  • Experience recruiting in skilled trades and multi-location environments

  • Recruiting activity is consistent, visible, and measurable 

Education and Experience:

 Associates Degree and at least 5 years of recruiting experience

 People Responsibilities:

Physical Environment:

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment
  • Stooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required

Skills Required
