We are seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer to join our team and drive our Rail Products to the next level. This role focuses on developing innovative solutions to address and enhance workflows at intermodal/inland rail facilities, optimizing the way cargo moves across rail networks. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture and expanding the functionality of our intermodal rail solutions, delivering high-impact software that improves efficiency, visibility, and performance for our global rail customers. Responsibilities
Drive technical direction for key product features and own strategic areas of the codebase end-to-end
Contribute to and influence architecture, system design, and technology decisions across the product area
Socialize and champion best practices for coding, testing, and AI-assisted development across multiple teams
Create new product features for global customers using test-driven development, setting the standard for quality and scalability
Act as a technical multiplier - mentor engineers, lead design and feature reviews, and elevate team-wide engineering capability
Collaborate across product management, professional services, and QA to deliver features that exceed end-user needs
Work across the full stack (frontend to backend) and across functional boundaries with clarity and ownership
Lead cross-team knowledge sharing, including workshops and documentation of architectural decisions
Participate in the full development lifecycle from definition and design through to delivery and post-launch ownership
Some international travel to customers and other offices may be required
Qualifications & Experience
BE/BTech/MCA/MSC IT with 8+ years of experience
Requirements
Deep proficiency in Java and full stack development, with demonstrated expertise in system design, scalability, and reliability
Proven ability to contribute to strategic architecture decisions and drive technical direction for key services
Strong expertise in Object-Oriented methodologies, design patterns, and enterprise application architectures
Experience leveraging AI tools and engineering best practices to improve team productivity and code quality
Hands-on experience with test-driven development and unit testing frameworks (JUnit, EasyMock)
Solid experience with relational database modelling and queries
Experience with open-source frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring
Proficient with Git version control and CI systems such as TeamCity or Jenkins
Exceptional debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills — able to work across a wide set of problems with clarity
Strong ability to communicate complex technical topics to varied audiences, including non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching engineers, establishing team norms and best practices
Self-directed and effective working independently; comfortable driving decisions without close supervision
Fluent in written and spoken English
