The Payments Technology and Environments team resides in the Payments Service Utility and its purpose is to restore the trust of our customers by transforming the Payments services experiences provided by the Bank to 99.999% availability, greater agility and reliability. Our team is composed of engineers and technology leaders, who bring in the right mix of skills to enable this transformation. We also work very closely with our business and operations colleagues to support these services which are critical to the Australian and Global economy. Our team is also responsible to also drive Engineering Governance, Continuous Delivery and key technological simplification pillars such as Cloud and Payments Event based architecture.
Impact & Contribution:
As an Staff Software Engineer within Payments Technology – Payments Data, you will be responsible for implementing the designs. You are expected to develop solutions and guide design to drive outcomes across the Core Product Systems. You are responsible for design analysis and the estimation process from Business Case, ideation, discovery and inception phases
Roles & Responsibilities:
As an Staff Software Engineer, to drive and continuously improve the tools and process that automate the delivery of code through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines which include the build, the testing and deployment capabilities of these pipelines.
Understand our customers' core business objectives and build end-to-end data centric solutions to address them.
Lead or participate in the definition, execution, and communication of strategy and technical solution.
Development of data staging, architecture, and consuming internal and external application interfaces
Cooperate with business and operational users, other data management staff and infrastructure teams to ensure adherence to client and company guidelines, restrictions, and requirements as well as industry standards.
Participate in the full lifecycle of agile projects (ideation through implementation)
Designs technical solutions and consumption patterns for business requirements with increasing complexity.
Produce high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks.
Essential Skills:
Minimum 10-12 years of experience in building TypeScript with Node JS and Java, J2EE Applications
Extensive experience in software engineering with a strong focus on system design and architecture.
Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Proficiency in following Tech Stack
Strong hands-on experience in Type Script & Node JS
Good experience on Aurora PostgreSQL
Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS DEVOPS
Expert in Java & Spring Boot
Expert in EventHub Kafka
Microservices Architecture & Best Practices.
Spring Security -Authentication & Authorization
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
