The Role:

At Forge, we work collaboratively, pair programming, and we are focused on delivering value. In the role of as a Staff Platform teammate, you will engineer cloud-native solutions and develop versatile developer toolchains that function effectively across various environments, including local, remote, and cloud setups. You will also improve core services, automate developer onboarding, infrastructure processes, CI/CD workflows, and enhance supply chain security. Your work will significantly increase system performance and developer productivity.

This will be a hybrid role where you'll be onsite 1-2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain containerized systems and toolchains for development environments, ensuring responsive and reliable operation of full-stack web applications. Build and maintain application infrastructure using infrastructure as code principles
  • Developer Environment Enhancement: Strengthen and develop developer environments, application frameworks, and CI/CD scripts to support a wide range of platforms and technologies
  • Collaboration and Solution Development: Work closely with developers, architects, and tech leads to devise solutions that enhance the developer experience and ensure the health and adoption of platforms
  • Platform Evangelism: Actively engage with development teams across the company to promote platform capabilities, share best practices, and drive platform adoption
  • Technical Documentation: Develop clear, articulate, and detailed technical documentation to support the use and understanding of developed systems and platforms
  • Operational Excellence and Agile Practices: Support system operations to achieve high availability, utilize observability tools for continuous improvement, and adhere to Agile and Lean practices for efficient project execution and teamwork

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience, coupled with at least 6 years in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps
  • Advanced knowledge of public cloud platforms with proven experience with AWS, along with experience in container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes, etc.) 
  • Proficient in one or more CI/CD toolchains such as GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.  
  • Skilled in crafting multi-tier distributed web applications and production applications using contemporary techniques across diverse programming languages
  • Knowledgeable in scripting with Shell, Bash, and similar languages  
  • Experience with one or more configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Terraform 
  • Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Honeycomb or ELK stack  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing application frameworks using .NET Core or Java, building single-page applications with React, and possessing advanced knowledge of Postgres database administration. Additional skills include cloud-based network administration
  • Extensive experience in the fintech or financial services industries, with a deep understanding of financial regulators and specific knowledge of the private capital market
  • Proven track record in high-growth, venture-backed startups, showcasing adaptability and the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings

For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $215,000-$225,000 base salary + bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors

Forge implements a mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, which applies to all employees.
