We are currently hiring a Staff level Distributed Systems Engineer.
What you’ll be working on:
Designing, building, and maintaining highly reliable, scalable, and secure distributed systems.
Operating blockchain infrastructure in production — including validator, full, and archive nodes — with a focus on uptime, performance, and resilience.
Monitoring, diagnosing, and improving system performance using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
Contributing to the xmtpd project, the new decentralized backend for the XMTP network
Engaging with open-source and Web3 communities, representing Ephemera in technical and public forums.
7–10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Proven track record operating decentralized blockchain nodes in production environments.
Strong experience with Golang and/or Rust.
Proficiency with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and incident response workflows.
History of contributing to open-source projects and participating in public technical discussions.
Interest or experience in Web3 technologies.
Active participation in validator communities, governance forums, or protocol discussions.
Experience contributing to a Layer 1 or Layer 2 blockchain.
Knowledge of messaging systems and protocols.
Cloud and bare-metal deployment experience, including Kubernetes or container orchestration.
Deep understanding of distributed systems design, consensus protocols, and security best practices for node operation.
