About the team: Subscriptions and Payments Team powers the end-to-end direct monetization engine for India’s largest subscription platform, with over 250M+ subscriptions. We build scalable, multi-tenant systems for acquiring users via D2C and partner channels, reducing churn through intelligent renewal and retry mechanisms, and integrating deeply with global and local payment ecosystems like UPI Autopay and card mandates. Our platform drives seamless onboarding, high retention, and reliable payments at scale—enabling frictionless subscription experiences across geographies and devices.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems for subscription lifecycle management, payment processing, and renewal workflows
- Lead development of core platform components such as the subscription state machine, payment orchestration layer, retry engine, and entitlement services.
- Ensure high performance and low latency of APIs handling real-time subscription and payment flows—scaling to millions of users across geographies.
- Build systems with strong observability and monitoring, ensuring system health, uptime, and fast incident response.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt relevant technologies
- Influence and lead architecture and design discussions within the team
Skills and attributes for success:
- Proficiency in any of the programming languages- Java, Golang, Python
- Experience in building RESTful APIs with monitoring, fault tolerance, and metrics (using tools like Hystrix)
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Experience in server-side services using ElasticSearch
- Experience with the AWS stack
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelors/master's in computer science or a related field with 6-8 years of professional experience
