This is a key position within the R&D organization, a highly visible role with an opportunity to have an impact on Nokia’s growth and success. You will manage the design and development of optical line system products using Outside Design and Manufacturing (ODM) suppliers with support from Nokia’s Engineering teams. You will be responsible for the successful development and launch of new products, measured by variety of time-to-market, cost, and product quality metrics. NION2026
ResponsibilitiesWithin the product life cycle, your work starts with a product specification owned by you in collaboration with PLM, System Architecture, and Engineering.
You will then manage the ODM supplier to develop and validate the product according to specifications.
Once product validation is complete, you will drive the project through software integration, system validation, NPI and pilot to realize general availability product release.
Key competencies to be successful in this role include engineering management, project management, and supplier management.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering. EE, Physics, or Optical Engineering preferred.
At least 8 years of engineering / product development experience, preferably in telecommunication systems
At least 5 years of experience in project and/or engineering management, including:
Resource planning, budgeting, and scheduling
Preparing and presenting project status reports to senior management
Collaborating with a diverse global team across multiple departments and sites
Experience managing hardware development projects is strongly preferred
Experience in design/development of optical communication products is preferred
Experience collaborating with and/or managing ODM suppliers is considered a plus
PMP or other professional designation is a plus.
