We are looking for a Staff II Software Engineer with expertise in Qt / QML who wants to apply their technical acumen and problem-solving abilities to support those who develop innovative, secure, safe and reliable software to support the product development needs of our MedTech clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the proper design and implementation of complex software and software / hardware integrated systems for cutting-edge medical technology products. You will be relied upon to interface with clients and represent MedAcuity to support seamless software development projects for our clients. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop primarily utilizing frameworks such as Qt / QML.
- Develop software using languages such as C++ and Python.
- Follow the full design life cycle process including participation in requirements specification, design activities, planning, code reviews, and creating corresponding artifacts.
- Provide complete expert engineering solutions to impactful and high-visibility client initiatives and and projects.
- Collaborate and be part of a multi-functional development team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experienced in working with UI frameworks such as Qt / QML and VTK.
- 5+ years of combined software development background with experience coding in multiple programming languages such as C, C++, and/or C#.
- Strong expertise in developing Object-Oriented software.
- Capable of contributing to designing solutions, defining specs, creating documentation, and reviewing code.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and management teams.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with, or interest in, working in a services or consulting environment, would be helpful.
- Expertise developing on embedded operating systems – Linux, VxWorks, QNX, Integrity, other RTOS.
- Prior history working in a regulated environment such as medical device, DoD, or aerospace industries is ideal.
- Professional background in Agile / Scrum environments.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is ideal, but not required.
