MaxLinear is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our Voice Software team at Bangalore that developing Voice over IP stacks and Telephony Applications for Home Gateway Platforms. As a member of the Voice team, you will become a key player of the system core component. As such, you will be required to provide fast and creative solutions to complex challenges, for providing high speed and stable software and firmware. In this role, you will focus on the following:
- Develop new features for Voice over IP stack, Telephony DSP and SLIC applications
- Fine tune audio algorithm/application parameters and settings for optimal performance
- Collaborate with other team members in software, debugging, Customer support and issue reproduction
- Enable customers with IP integration
- Develop tools to monitor and analyze audio quality in the SIP infrastructure
- Assist in automation tasks (deployment, configuration, QA)
- Communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with all the relevant areas
- Expert C coding skills with minimum of 5 years experience. Security Aspect added Advantage
- Strong hands on voice expertise in Voice Signaling and media processing for SIP, IMS, Advanced Voice Programs
- Experience developing Linux Kernel Drivers, multi-threading, OS IPCs, Linux systems, networking, and tools
- Experience developing networking software including socket programming and UDP/TCP
- knowledge of Real Time Communication protocols and technologies (SIP, SDP, RTP, SRTP)
- Understanding of ITUT Telephony standards, PacketCable, Audio Codecs - Advantage
- Familiar with Wireshark packet tracing, Telephony Call control analysis – Advantage
- Familiar with Security Authentication, Kerberos, SDL, threat modeling – Advantage
- BE/BTech in Electronics/Telecommunication/Computer Science Engineering or related 5+ years of experience, or MS/MTech 3+ years of experience

Skills Required
- Expert C coding skills with at least 5 years of experience
- Hands-on expertise in voice signaling and media processing for SIP, IMS, and advanced voice programs
- Experience developing Linux kernel drivers, multithreaded systems, OS IPCs, Linux systems, networking, and tools
- Experience developing networking software using socket programming and UDP/TCP
- Knowledge of real-time communication protocols and technologies including SIP, SDP, RTP, and SRTP
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 3+ years of experience
- Understanding of ITU-T telephony standards, PacketCable, and audio codecs
- Familiarity with Wireshark packet tracing and telephony call-control analysis
- Familiarity with security authentication, Kerberos, SDL, and threat modeling
