Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Engineer to support the ongoing operation and new development of multiple Renewable Natural Gas facilities.
This position will support operations at the RNG facilities in providing technical support for equipment issues, identifying process engineering improvements performing root cause analysis, equipment failure analysis, maintenance project planning, production optimization and reliability, spare parts inventory management and other project management duties. In addition, this position will be tasked with ensuring changes to the facility are scoped, designed, and constructed in accordance with all applicable Company, Industry, and Regulatory standards and requirements. The position will maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, fellow employees' safety, the general public's safety, and safe operation of facilities.
This position reports to the VP of Project Development.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Advocate and provide leadership for process and operations safety at RNG facilities.
Review and contribute to commissioning and start up activities.
Develop engineering and construction standards.
Modify and maintain or oversee contractors to modify and maintain design documents such as P&ID’s, 3D models, single line diagrams, C&E Matrix, and other necessary design documents.
Support operational issue resolution and provide technical support for the facility.
Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, optimize units, debottleneck equipment, etc.
Conduct proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of assigned process equipment.
Report production deficiencies, monitoring results, etc. in a timely manner.
Develop solutions to improve reliability and production.
Provide technical review of MOC’s and Operations procedures.
Adjust plant PLC programming, SCADA systems, and other communications and control systems to automate asset reporting, enhance performance and ensure safety.

Skills & Experience Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, civil, petroleum).
Minimum of 8 years industry experience, with preference given to experience in facilities with high pressure equipment (> 500 psig), large rotating equipment (> 300hp), high temperature heat medium systems, pressure swing adsorption systems, membrane/media technologies, cryogenic/NGL processing, air cooled exchangers, and other similar equipment.
Knowledge of landfill gas collection system, PSA process, compression, natural gas safety standards and codes with an acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment are preferred.
Technical proficiency and working knowledge of applicable Industry standards (API, ASME, NACE, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications (e.g. MS Office suite, AutoCAD, ProMax, etc.)
A high degree of motivation with minimal direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems within a specific time frame.
Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Tasks may be carried out in a Plant environment with indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend elevated platforms, use hand tools, and other manual tasks. May occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Qualified candidate must have valid drivers' license with satisfactory driving record.
Work Hours
Monday – Friday; standard business hours. Regular participation in safety meetings, operations leadership meetings, and other site initiatives will be required. Position is subject to 24-hour call-out, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be willing and able to carry a cellular phone and respond in a timely manner to calls. Extended working hours may be necessary. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
