This is a hands-on, senior technical leadership role with direct accountability for architectural decisions, engineering standards, and operational reliability. The role requires close collaboration with business, engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams, and acts as a technical reference point within the automation ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions, reducing manual effort and operational risk.
- Act as technical owner for automation platforms and services, ensuring strong engineering standards, clean architecture, and long-term sustainability.
- Design and evolve microservices, event-driven, and API-based architectures, with mandatory use of containers.
- Partner with business, engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver production-grade solutions.
- Build, operate, and optimize cloud-native services on AWS, applying best practices in reliability, observability, and security.
- Lead the adoption and evolution of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardize environments and automate provisioning.
- Define, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, deployment, and operational workflows.
- Ensure operational excellence, including monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of existing automations.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, runbooks, and operational guides.
- Act as a technical mentor and reference, supporting and guiding senior and mid-level engineers.
Mandatory Qualifications
Software Engineering
- Strong, hands-on experience with .NET (C#) in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Ability to write clean, testable, reusable, and maintainable code, applying solid engineering principles.
Cloud & AWS
- Advanced hands-on experience with AWS, including:
- EC2, Lambda, S3
- IAM, CloudWatch
- CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, security, and operational best practices.
Containers (MANDATORY)
- Mandatory, hands-on experience with containerization using Docker.
- Practical experience with container orchestration, preferably:
- ECS and/or Kubernetes
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and operate container-based architectures in production.
DevOps & Automation
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent).
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Proven experience automating deployments, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Strong command of Git, including pull requests, code reviews, and branching strategies.
Domain / Platform Experience (Valued)
- Jira Administration, including workflow configuration, permissions, and automation rules.
- Experience with OutSystems for low-code development and system integration.
- Familiarity with OpenText BPM or similar BPM / process automation platforms.
- Previous experience in regulated environments (e.g., banking, financial services, insurance).
