Designing Solutions
● Apply expert industry knowledge and broad understanding of multiple disciplines with technical knowledge to drive outcomes for customers

Mentorship
● Provide guidance and reinforcement around established engineering best practices

Position is based out of and reports to Thrivent’s HQ in Minneapolis, MN, but allows for the option to telecommute from a home office anywhere in the United States.
Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Data Science and Engineering and 7 years of progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience as a data engineer, software engineer, or technology consultant in engineering environments.
Special skills/ requirements include:
•At least 7 years of experience in data engineering working with Big Data Technologies: (1) Apache Spark or PySpark and (2) Hadoop.
•At least 7 years of experience building Data pipelines (Batch or Streaming).
•At least 5 years of experience working with Scripting Languages including Python or Shell Scripting.
•At least 5 years of experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines using Github, Gitlab and Bamboo.
•At least 4 years of experience working with JVM Languages including Java or Scala.
•At least 4 years of experience working with Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
•At least 3 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Chef or Terraform
•At least 3 years of experience with data streaming frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis
•At least 1 year of experience working with modern datastack, using tools such as dbt, Databricks with Delta Lake or Snowflake.
•.At least 1 year of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
Must also have demonstrable experience in each of the following:
•Experience in ETL, SQL, Informatica Power Center, Databases like SQL server, DB2, Oracle
•Experience with Datawarehouse model with STAR, Snowflake and 3NF schema
•Experience with BI development and reporting.

Salary: At least $180,000/year
