Staff Engineer
JOB DUTIES: Develop and implement comprehensive environmental engineering plans covering grading, drainage design, utility force mains, leachate and landfill gas collection systems, landfill cell and infrastructure construction, and the design of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control systems. Responsible for solid waste engineering design and permitting (landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities). Prepare technical reports such as operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications. Collect air and water monitoring samples and analyze technical data for successful engineering implementation. Use AutoCAD to design projects.
*Position requires travel approximately 10–15% of the time to project sites within the state for Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) activities, up to approximately 100 miles from the primary worksite.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience as Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist or closely related, OR Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist or closely related.
SPECIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include the following: environmental site investigation and remediation, including groundwater and soil sampling, and data analysis for VOCs, PFAS, and petroleum-related contaminants; water systems analysis preparation and interpretation of SDS for treatment systems; life cycle impact assessment (LCIA), and; use of AutoCAD. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

Skills Required
