Analog IC Design Engineer – Magnetic Sensors

The mission of the Magnetic Sensor (MAG) team within the Industrial and Multi-Markets (IMM) Business Group is to develop highly innovative, differentiated and industry leading magnetic sensing technology for industrial and automotive markets.  The novel and ground-breaking sensor products are defined and developed at ADI’s European Research and Development Centre leveraging proprietary processes in the Limerick Fab, meeting the emerging needs of our strategic customers.

To help us accelerate our ambitious goals in bringing these emerging technologies to commercial success, the MAG team is seeking a highly driven and dynamic engineer to work as an Analog IC Design Engineer in our magnetic sensor product teams. 

Role Description:

We are primarily looking for candidates having 7+ yrs experience in Analog design in a Semiconductor company. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with the design flow from concept definition through to design & eval/debug. Your role will involve working with a broader team, including analog & digital designers, verification & layout engineers, eval & test engineers as part of a product development team. We are searching for enthusiastic candidates with a desire to learn and improve their skills in analog circuit design. Collaboration within the team is essential, and you will be working alongside designers extensive experience as well as more junior designers, offering a great opportunity for both  learning mentorship.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • BS or MS degree in EE or ECE. Typically requires minimum of 7+ years related and progressive semiconductor industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge in design and layout of analog and mixed-signal circuit design and architecture with various blocks such as ADC, bandgap, amplifiers, comparators, current sources, oscillators, regulators, etc.
  • Enjoy analog circuit designs, simulations and validation.
  • Proficiency with Cadence analog design environment, including schematic entry, analog and mixed-signal simulation.
  • Behavioural modelling of analog circuits and analog mixed signal (AMS) verification techniques.
  • Good data analysis and analytic skills and knowledge.
  • Good communication, technical writing and team working skills; have the ability to work as a part of multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Design high performance analog and mixed-signal circuits  to integrate with our xMR sensors.  Circuit blocks include ADCs, bandgap reference, current biases, amplifiers and comparators, oscillators, voltage regulators, etc. 
  • Participate in defining circuit implementation architecture based on specifications, create transistor-level designs, and collaborate with analog layout designers for optimization.
  • Create and maintain documentation for designs, including specifications, test plans, usage guidelines & limitations.
  • Support evaluation and test of the IC in the lab and assist with the debug of issues. 
  • Collaborating with design engineers and managers, layout, evaluation, applications, test, and product management.
