The Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) organization within Instrumentation delivers high‑performance solutions that enable production testing of advanced electrical and electronic systems—from high‑speed microprocessors to high‑voltage EV battery modules. We partner closely with customers to define cutting‑edge stimulus and measurement architectures, driving improvements in accuracy, energy efficiency, test time, and channel density to provide differentiated ATE capability.
Position Overview
The ATE/DPS team is seeking a Lead Analog IC Layout Engineer to join our global development organization. This role plays a key part in delivering next‑generation system‑level solutions that address the rapidly expanding testing demands driven by electrification and increasing semiconductor complexity.
You will work on innovative new products across a wide range of precision technologies, including converters, references, amplifiers, and switches. This position combines technical depth, ownership, and leadership within a highly collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the layout of full‑chip designs and large, complex sub‑blocks, including scheduling, floor planning, verification, and tapeout.
- Serve as a primary technical resource and mentor for less experienced engineers.
- Lead teams and drive complex projects with meaningful business impact.
- Collaborate closely with design, foundry, assembly, reliability, and failure analysis teams to achieve required product performance and quality.
- Develop solutions to challenging technical problems requiring deep expertise and analytical skill.
- Influence across organizational boundaries to promote and uphold technical excellence.
- Develop and refine layout methodologies and best practices to boost team productivity and design quality.
- Lead complex technical efforts from initial concept through successful completion.
- Innovate and implement advanced layout techniques that enhance organizational capability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of full‑custom IC layout experience specializing in analog and mixed‑signal circuits.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, including strong VXL expertise.
- Deep understanding of LVS, DRC, antenna checks, and associated verification/debug methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of standard analog layout practices: device matching, parasitic, noise mitigation, shielding, supply routing, latch‑up, and ESD considerations.
- Strong planning, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a global, collaborative team environment.
- Experience with high‑voltage (HV) layout.
- Background in precision analog electronics such as amplifiers or voltage references.

Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
