What we’re looking for: 

Nexamp is looking to hire a Staff Accountant to join it's Asset Management Accounting team. You will be responsible to support the monthly financial close and reporting processes by preparing journal entries, maintaining accurate account reconciliations, and assisting in the delivery of financial information to internal and external stakeholders. You will help ensure the integrity of financial records and contribute to the preparation of reporting and financing materials that support the company’s operations and growth.  

You will be hybrid out of Boston, MA. You will report to the Manager, Accounting – Asset Management.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for the financial close, which include (but are not limited) to prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, debt, revenue, etc.   
  • Maintain supporting schedules and cash reconciliation for month end close, ensuring accuracy to balance sheet accounts.  
  • Prepare financial statement reporting packages and various deliverables to investors and lenders. 
  • Assist in the creation/development of financing packages for lenders for projects that are in construction.  
  • Support Accounting team via ad hoc projects and analysis as requested by management.

What you’ll bring:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 1 year of relevant work across accounting, with public experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to use standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage recurring daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities while adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Sound judgment, strong ownership, and the ability to seek guidance or escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Understanding of how accurate, timely work supports financial reporting and broader business outcomes.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

Compensation 

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $70,000 - $76,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
