The staff accountant will play an important support role, clarifying the financial outlook of our company and its clients with precise, proactive measures.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing the daily AP process including entering bills, coding appropriate GL accounts, and processing weekly payments.
- Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Reconcile bank statements
- Accurately record credit card expenses
- Maintaining an approved vendor list
- Reviewing expense reports for completeness and accuracy and recording in the GL
- Backup to the AR function helping to create invoices and record payments
- Research ad hoc accounting issues and develop various solutions or alternatives to present to the Controller
- Process accounting mail
- Perform month-end closing duties as assigned
- Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in accounting
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with NetSuite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
- Collaborative, well organized, and efficient
Skills Required
