Job Overview:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant in Boston, MA to join our expanding finance team as we continue our growth trajectory. This is a full-time hybrid role split between remote work and a minimum three days per week in our Boston office.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute all Accounts Payable tasks including invoice processing, payments, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Process & manage employee expense reimbursements. 
  • Record revenue and accounts receivable entries into the accounting system and assist with operations with accounts receivable processing issues as needed.
  • Work with Billing Department to reconcile revenue booked to the NetSuite accounting system with revenue reports from the billing system.
  • Research billing and client payment issues and questions. Process client refunds as directed by Operations.
  • Record bank transactions weekly in NetSuite
  • Monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Monitor bank balances and cash flow. Alert Director of Finance of cash transfer requirements.
  • Handle online banking administrative tasks.
  • Perform monthly accounting close process including account reconciliations and generation of financial reports.
  • Maintain balance sheet schedules and post monthly entries including Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, and Amortization/Depreciation.
  • Manage, accurately process, and track Modera Charitable Foundations requests as needed for client and employee giving.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with reporting needs for executive leadership, board of managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Record payroll entries into NetSuite and track/reconcile employee-related liabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, plus a minimum of 2 years of post-degree work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with NetSuite desktop
  • Must be organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to continual improvement demonstrated in a willingness to learn new things and take on new tasks
  • Proficient in managing deadlines and ability to schedule tasks accordingly
  • Confidentiality is essential

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of planning strategies and solutions
  • Highly proficient in financial planning software and computer software, including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Salary Range: $75,000-90,000
    • Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point of market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and most importantly, performance in the job role.
