Staff Accountant
SIG is looking for a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for a variety of accounting, financial, and operational services for SIG including setting up revenue recognition criteria for new contracts, completing account reconciliations, calculating commission payments, and supporting other accounting functions. This is a remote position based in the US.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Reviewing new contract terms and setting up revenue recognition rules.
- Coding and recording credit card purchases made by employees.
- Collect a tax-exempt certificate in states where it is required.
- Identify areas for process improvement in the credit card and reimbursement process.
Month-End:
- Complete account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card reconciliations) as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting on sales volume to purchasing consortiums.
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) related to SIG’s.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations of SIG.
- Identify accounting errors, research technical issues, and proactively resolve issues.
Annual Financial Reporting Requirements:
- Assist annually with preparation for the independent auditors.
- Assist with acquisition process, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting Concentration.
- Experience providing accounting and financial services preferred.
- Technical knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, Bill.com) and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Working knowledge of GAAP and G/L account analysis, especially relating to revenue recognition.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse team member population.
- Ability to present complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
Compensation & Benefits
Our compensation package consists of salary, annual bonus, and retirement benefits. The starting salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 depending on individual skills and experience.

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
