West Monroe Partners is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with robust financial acumen and exceptional critical thinking abilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a spectrum of accounting and finance tasks, ranging from daily operational processes to comprehensive financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Execute monthly journal entries, encompassing revenue, adjustments, expenses, and fixed assets, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage accounting processes, including integrations, acquisitions, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Conduct thorough month-end reconciliations of various accounts (i.e. prepaids, accruals, fixed assets) to validate accuracy and integrity of financial data. Identify, monitor, and escalate identifiable variances.
  • Generate detailed month-end financial reports for business units, offering insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and automation initiatives within the Finance team, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audit documentation, including gathering PBC (Provided by Client) list documents to facilitate a smooth audit process.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decision-making, utilizing analytical skills to provide actionable insights.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable inbox, including handling new supplier forms and callbacks. Provide comprehensive support for client invoicing processes, ensuring meticulous recording of cash receipts for accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate on managing AR aging issues by implementing efficient follow-up procedures to promptly address outstanding matters.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based project environment, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Exhibit strong self-motivation and exceptional analytical skills.
  • Display excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior management and clients.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changes in the work environment, embracing new challenges and evolving priorities with resilience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), knowledge of Workday/Adaptive a plus.
  • Experience in billing and CRM systems, such as Salesforce/Katana.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
West Monroe offers employees Health Care FSAs, Dependent Care FSAs, and Commuter FSAs to help cover medical, dependent care, and commuter expenses with pre-tax contributions.
Disability insurance
If employees become ill or suffer an injury that prevents them from working, West Monroe provides short- and long-term disability insurance to replace a portion of an employee’s income.
Dental insurance
West Monroe dental insurance is provided by Delta Dental via PPO. The plan covers 100% of the cost of preventative care, including x-rays, annual cleanings, and more.
Vision insurance
West Monroe’s vision insurance is provided by VSP. The plan includes treatment for eye pain, tests to diagnose vision changes, exams to monitor cataracts, retinal screenings, and routine eye care.
Health insurance
West Monroe’s medical insurance is provided by BCBS of Illinois and Kaiser Permanente for CA & HI employees. There are two plan offerings through BCBS: PPO and a High Deductible Plan with an HSA.
Life insurance
West Monroe offers all full-time employees a $50,000 Life and AD&D policy at no cost to the employee. Employees are offered voluntary life insurance in the amount of up to $500K or 5x their salary.
Pet insurance
Employees have the ability to purchase pet insurance directly with Spot, ASPCA, or Pets Best through the West Monroe partnership with Benefit Hub.
Wellness programs
