Staff Accountant
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in our Chicago office. You will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Team members to create a world-class finance function within Belvedere. Primary functions include general ledger accounting & reporting, accounts payable, and expense analysis as well as many ad-hoc projects.

What you'll do
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Prepare and perform payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with GAAP.
- Support external audit activities by providing documentation and explanations as requested.
What you'll need
- An entrepreneurial mindset, ambition, and outstanding organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on Accounts Payable preferred.
- Experience with OCR technology a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work output.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience or interest in the Financial Markets preferred.
- Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly sensitive information.
