Our office is located in Midtown Manhattan, near the Empire State Building.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate and resolve differences among ecommerce platform reports, payment processor settlements, bank activity, and accounting records.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules for each website or business to support accurate financial reporting and month-end close.
  • Record and review accounting transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
  • Prepare bank, credit card, vendor, and other assigned account reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review, payment inquiries, and account research.
  • Assist with internal financial reports and prepare supporting documentation for audits and other reviews.
  • Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and payment service providers to resolve accounting questions.
  • Maintain organized financial records and provide related administrative support.
  • Assist with special projects and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • One to three years of relevant accounting experience, including account reconciliations, journal entries, or month-end close.
  • E-commerce accounting experience is preferred, particularly experience supporting multiple companies, brands, or websites.
  • Familiarity with reconciling online sales and payment processor settlements, including refunds, fees, and chargebacks.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A working understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and organizing and comparing financial data.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP software and the ability to work with reports from multiple systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies and follow through on solutions.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple reconciliation schedules, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with a small finance team.
  • Discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information.
  • Experience in apparel, wholesale, or another inventory-based business is a plus.
