We are a client focused technology company seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience who is comfortable working independently across tax, accounting, financial reporting, and client service responsibilities.
This is a remote opportunity for a detail oriented accounting professional who can manage priorities effectively, communicate clearly, and deliver accurate work while collaborating with team members in a distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare federal and state tax returns for partnerships and S corporations
- Prepare individual income tax returns as needed
- Perform bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation for small and mid sized business clients
- Review general ledger activity, identify accounting discrepancies, and prepare appropriate adjusting entries
- Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
- Manage assigned projects and accounting responsibilities while meeting multiple deadlines
- Collaborate with leadership and team members on tax, accounting, reporting, and special projects....
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholdes and support ongoing client and business needs in a remote work environment
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience required
- Experience preparing partnership and S corporation tax returns
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online
- Experience with quartely and annual payroll tax reporting
- Ability to identify accounting issues and make appropriate corrections and adjusting entries
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines in a remote setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Client-service mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus, but not required
