Description
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP accounting. In addition, this position will also have exposure to all other elements of the accounting function, such as AP, GL, Treasury, & AR. This is a hybrid position with occasional in office days required at our Brentwood, TN office.
Responsibilities:
- Create monthly invoices
- Apply cash payments
- Assist with the AP/AR/Treasury Process
- Complete journal entries and reports monthly as required by set deadlines
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations monthly and investigate/resolve variances.
- Preparation of quarterly deliverables associated with the external reporting process & external/internal audits and tax compliance
- Assist in provision of information for external auditors and tax teams
- Perform special projects, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable degree
- Knowledge of GAAP is required
- Experience with General Ledger functions
- Ability to successfully work in remote/hybrid environment
- Ability to learn new processes, accounting and tax skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills – including the ability to present and implement results
- A demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results

- A working knowledge of corporate and state tax compliance preferred
- Experience with Accounting software, NetSuite is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft suite of products with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
