As the Staff Accountant, you will support the accounting function through ownership of accounts payable, payroll accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities. This position reports to the Controller and will work closely with leadership to support process improvements, NetSuite optimization initiatives, acquisition integrations, audit readiness, and the continued scaling of the accounting function. This is a hands-on position which demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, process orientation, ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to drive financial performance. What you'll be doing:
- Accounting activities will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other necessary reporting documents.
- Assist with state and local tax registrations, annual reports, business license renewals, and other regulatory compliance filings.
- Collaboration in the formal development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Own accounts payable operations including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment administration, and vendor statement reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor records.
- Assist with payroll accounting, benefit accruals, commission accruals, and payroll-related account reconciliations.
- Calculate and record departmental cost allocations and interdepartmental expense allocations.
- Prepare assigned month-end close deliverables in accordance with the monthly close calendar and established internal control procedures.
- Maintain prepaid expense, fixed asset, and accrual schedules.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
- Assist with preparation of audit schedules and support annual financial statement audits.
- Support the Senior Revenue Accountant with billing, collections, and revenue accounting projects as needed.
- Maintain accounting records within NetSuite and assist with system improvements and process efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of experience in financial management roles with relevant experience.
- SaaS experience required.
- NetSuite experience required.
- Thoroughly versed in GAAP particularly with technology related requirements, and have strong background in non-routine and complex transactions.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
- Experience with accounts payable, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative accounting team.
