Job Description

As an Assistant Racing Manager you will be responsible for creating a fun and competitive race meeting. 

Reporting to the Racing Manager you will be part of the Racing Office, who will be assisting the Racing Manager to maintain the integrity of greyhound racing at all times whilst supporting the Company in its objectives by the delivery of the required betting margin and to help deliver the best possible greyhound racing for on-course and off-course markets.

What you will do

• To focus on working with the Racing Manager to deliver the most competitive racing product possible to deliver the required betting margin for the Company and competitors.
• Assist in producing a series of graded and open races to meet the required schedule of racing.
• Implementation and enforcement of GBGB and local rules of racing.
• Assist with providing and analysing data on all aspects of greyhounds, including the production of key statistical information on trainer performance and race results and nature of injuries.
• Integrate and update different types of racing office data and present information in various formats in accordance with stadium and industry requirements.
• Coordinate the secure kenneling of greyhounds on a race day.
• To ensure the presence of a qualified Vet prior to the commencement of race meetings and trial sessions.
• Manage the identification, kenneling and sampling of greyhounds.
• Act as a GBGB licensed Steward during race meetings.
• Coordinate, supervise and record the outcome of trial sessions and produce records of trial sessions.
• Ensure that all equipment and areas are safe and used following manufacturer’s guidelines for operation, reporting any concerns to the Racing Manager. 

Qualifications

• Do you have knowledge and understanding of greyhound racing and stakeholders interest within the greyhound industry?
• Have you got a proven record of grading greyhounds and solid understanding of the GBGB Rules of Racing?
• Do you have experience in training, communication, and stakeholder management?
