Sr./Ssr. Accountant - Guadalajara

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior / Semi Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle a range of tax and social security-related tasks. This position requires excellent communication skills in English (at least upper-intermediate level) and proficiency in Excel. Candidates must reside in Mexico, preferably in Guadalajara, with the possibility of attending the office a few times per month.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Calculate and file taxes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Handle the submission of tax reports and resolve related queries.
• Manage social security processes such as employee registrations and terminations with IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social).
• Provide accurate and timely support for audits and financial reviews.
• Maintain organized records and ensure data accuracy in accounting systems.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Fluent in English, with at least an upper-intermediate level.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience in tax calculation, tax filing, and IMSS processes.
• Must reside in Mexico, preferably in Guadalajara, with availability to attend the office a few times per month.

Nice to have

• Experience with US accounting laws and practices.
• Fluency in French is highly desirable.
