SRE Engineering Lead

As Ninety continues to experience exceptional growth, we are looking to bring on an SRE Engineering Lead who will lead multiple engineering teams and who will report to the Head of Engineering (Platform).

As an SRE Lead, you will design and automate cloud-native platforms using AWS, ECS, and serverless architectures, leveraging IaC tools like Terraform. You will drive system reliability through advanced monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization, ensuring SLOs are met. Collaborating with development teams, you will integrate best practices in automation, security, and scalability to maintain highly available, resilient systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive their professional growth and productivity.
• Technical Excellence: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, architecture, and security.
• Daily Deliverables: Drive a culture of continuous delivery, ensuring that software is delivered to production on a daily basis.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges related to distributed systems and SaaS operations, employing a proactive and innovative approach.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce robust testing and quality assurance processes to maintain the reliability and scalability of software systems.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize the performance of applications, ensuring they meet SLAs and user expectations.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and software quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOps roles, with a strong track record of improving system reliability and performance.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and tech stacks (e.g., Golang, C#, Python, JavaScript).
• Expert-level proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including services like ECS and serverless architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.
• Extensive experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and other reliability metrics.
• Experience in building and operating distributed systems and SaaS applications.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
