Improve tooling life, product quality, and process capability through redesign and process optimization.
Manage Tool Room operations including tooling procurement, usage tracking, and tool life analysis.
Implement systems for accurate tool control, ordering, and usage monitoring.
Mentor and train engineers, technicians, and Tool Room staff to strengthen internal expertise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, and process standardization.
Ensure all engineering practices comply with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
Excellent skills in equipment planning and installation for assembly equipment
Excellent knowledge regarding quality expectations, planning and implementation within new projects
Excellent skills regarding Automotive product launches
Excellent product knowledge in Class-A, B and C for the automotive industry
Familiar with all quality related methods and tools such as but not limited to CPMP, APQP, FMEA, etc.
Excellent customer relationships
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, the ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping. Office environment in a manufacturing facility. 60% in the office, 40% on the shop floor
KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor Degree in a technical related discipline and/ or 5 plus years related automotive experience with sound understanding of BIW build fit & function.
Certified Tool & Die Maker and/or 5 years related work experience in a Class A metal stamping manufacturing environment
Must have an understanding in the following areas: Die / die process, assembly tooling, welding & sealer applications, CMM & datum alignment, data processing & reporting, customer tolerancing concepts, working knowledge of catia V4/V5.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Word.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong leadership skills.
