Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Test Engineer for our Test Development in Japan for EML and CW laser product lines. This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of world-class testing methodologies and tools to ensure product excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in driving innovation in testing practices, scaling testing operations for complex products in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and release to factory test strategies, processes, and tools that meet the required speed, scale, cost and quality for EML and CW laser production
- Perform statistical data analysis and trouble shoot potential root causes for yield enhancement
- Identify and drive initiatives for test automation, process improvements, test time and cost reductions, and yield improvements
- Lead troubleshooting and FA activities in close coordination with suppliers and Operation team so to exceed tester uptime/utilization targets
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with test engineering or tester & equipment develop or above
- Strong in developing software tools for statistical data analysis (SQL, JMP)
- Experienced and fully understand Gage R&R, correlation, test coverage and qualification
- Able to interpret and analyze test result/data, correlating the test data with fab inline process for yield improvement.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, data analysis and data driven analytical mindset
- BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, information, or other relevant major.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in semiconductor lasers, like edge emitting laser, or Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) related device design, process development and characterization is preferred
- Familiarity with photonics surmount, housing, semiconductor laser diodes, LEDs, photodetectors, driver ICs, and optical components (lenses, diffusers, DOEs).
- Strong communication skills; adept at hosting effective meetings and facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.
- Strong ability to drive actions and solutions through cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in Japanese language
