We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager – Vehicle Dynamics to guide development of ride, handling, steering and braking attributes on world-leading products, and oversee execution of prototypes that showcase the cutting-edge of electric vehicle innovation.

Our ideal candidate can demonstrate in-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics fundamentals and how systems across the vehicle contribute to total performance. They are skilled at proactive communication so that each individual team member remains aware of the timing and delivery expectations of the programs. They appropriately identify, summarize, and escalate critical issues to the attention of senior management in a timely manner. Lastly, our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude, approaches their work with vigor and determination, has the ability to learn quickly, can work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and is adept at multi-tasking.


The Role:

  • In this role you will be embedded within the Vehicle Dynamics group of the Chassis Team and work cross-functionally with engineers, program managers, and senior management in support of vehicle development, architecture layout, and prototype vehicle builds
  • Develop and maintain attribute targets, development plans, test reports, and benchmark comparisons, and cascade these throughout the organization to key stakeholders
  • Plan test trips to sites around the world that align with achieving product attributes and development milestones. Coordinate shipments of vehicles, equipment/spares, and personnel. Your participation is strongly encouraged but not mandatory
  • Manage the Chassis and Special Projects development vehicle fleet, including: vehicle allocation, test plans, upgrades, software/hardware configurations, etc.
  • Work closely with Chassis Mechanical and Electronics teams to ensure cutting-edge hardware, software, and electrical components align with attribute targets and development timing


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle dynamics development (luxury/performance vehicles or motorsport experience is preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in program management including cost/quality/timing/risk analysis disciplines
  • Strong understanding of vehicle attributes, suspension architectures, and tuning strategies
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly with an aptitude for technical subjects
  • Ability to travel as needed (20-30%)


Advantageous:

  • 8+ years of automotive (or relevant) engineering experience
  • Experience with and/or working knowledge of simulation and analysis tools (e.g. ADAMS, Dymola, Carsim, MatLab, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with and/or good knowledge of vehicle assembly plant processes and practices
  • A creative problem-solving mindset combined with business acumen to aid teams in obtaining ideas as well as leading development and execution


Education Requirements:

  • BS/BEng or MS/MEng in a related Engineering discipline

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

 

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$146,100$243,500 USD
