The Position:
As a Sr Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the technical systems developed are aligned with business objectives for a given product through managing the requirements gathering process. You will take the business requirements from product and convert them to technical requirements, ensure stakeholder alignment, and facilitate planning, working closely with engineering cloud architecture, data science and product teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Work closely with cloud architecture and engineering to define and execute the product roadmap for cloud-based diagnostics products, with a focus on leveraging AWS services to enhance the scalability, security, and performance of solutions.
- Lab Technology: Work with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, operations, and clinical teams to gather requirements, define product features, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all AWS-based solutions comply with relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and adhere to security best practices for handling sensitive health data.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Facilitate the product lifecycle from concept to launch, managing timelines, deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure successful product releases.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Engage with customers and key stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and prioritize features that enhance the user experience and diagnostic accuracy.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 10+ years with a master's degree, performing in a Technical Product Management position or similar role, with a focus on use of cloud-based platforms in healthcare companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience working with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS, SQS, KMS, and other cloud technologies.
- Understanding of cloud security and compliance in healthcare, especially around data encryption, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and work closely with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget.
- Experience in the healthcare or biotechnology industry, specifically in diagnostics or medical devices, is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AI/ML models in diagnostics.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and experience with microservices.
- Familiarity with data integration and interoperability standards in healthcare (e.g., HL7, FHIR).

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
