Job Title: Sr. Tax Analyst
Reports to: Senior Manager, Global Tax Reporting 
Location:  Remote - California ONLY

(in person at Westlake Village, CA twice a month)

The Role

Under the general direction of the Director of Global Tax Reporting & Transformation, the Sr. Tax Analyst, Reporting & Compliance will work with the tax team on a broad range of tax reporting, compliance, analysis, and planning projects, including the calculations of the Deckers worldwide income tax provision and income tax returns. The individual will be well rounded, versatile and capable of leadership and implementation, as well as have working knowledge of tax reporting and data transformation tools.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Support the quarterly consolidation of the income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740; including preparation of the global effective tax rate, reconciliation of the worldwide tax-basis balance sheet accounts, including taxes payable, deferred taxes, and related valuation allowances for support and proper disclosure Contribute to the tax compliance process by extracting and transforming data needed for the third-party preparation of estimated tax payments, extensions, and federal and state income tax returns Assist in implementing tax software solutions and enhancing the efficiency of provision calculations and reporting processes. Provide quarterly tax accounting support for US and foreign subsidiaries including review monthly US GAAP tax journal entries, review quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provision calculations, review annual tax provision to return analysis and related tax balance sheet true-ups, while supporting foreign tax managers, as needed

Who You Are

CPA preferred or in progress and Big Four public accounting experience is desirable Strong background in corporate tax law, including both international and domestic concepts Strong written and verbal communication skills 

We’d love to hear from people with

• 4+ years of corporate income tax experience with a large public accounting firm with a focus on global compliance and ASC 740 income tax accounting
• CPA preferred or in progress and Big Four public accounting experience is desirable
• Strong background in corporate tax law, including both international and domestic concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong analytical skills and project management skills
• Detail oriented with strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn
• Great teammate who can work effectively across distances with global tax and finance team members. 
• Experience with OneSource Tax Provision Software
• Experience with Alteryx or other data analytic software, preferred
• Experience with Oracle, Oracle Hyperion, and/or other ERP system, preferred

$95,000 - $105,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
