Job Responsibilities
Automation Architecture & Framework Development
Own and enhance the GMOP automation framework, ANT-based test automation, and related tooling.
Develop reusable, modular, environment-aware automation solutions for MSP/proxy and mobile packet core lab environments.
Maintain a single adaptable codebase across environments, products, and releases using Git-based workflows.
Create end-to-end test cases, post-validation templates, CLI health checks, and RegEx-based validation logic.
Promote scalable automation standards across MSP operations, lab certification, and production-readiness workflows.
Procedure Analysis & Automation Strategy
Analyze vendor procedures and certification requirements to identify repeatable, automatable activities.
Convert procedure-specific tasks into reusable automation patterns for pre-checks, validations, post-checks, and recurring operations.
Participate in sprint planning and design discussions to ensure automation objectives, requirements, and deliverables are clearly tracked.
Use Jira and related project management tools to track requirements, designs, defects, and delivery progress.
Apply engineering judgment to keep complex or context-specific activities manual where automation is not appropriate.
Systems Integration & Operational Consistency
Bridge vendor deployment procedures with internal automation platforms, ANT, Azure DevOps, and lab certification workflows.
Generalize release-specific requirements into reusable automation solutions across MSP, proxy, SMF/UPF, SGW/PGW, and related packet core domains.
Enable consistent execution across deployment environments, network domains, and lab-to-production readiness activities.
Collaborate with platform, testing, infrastructure, and operations teams to troubleshoot automation, tooling, and mobility infrastructure issues.
Align automation with operational objectives, enterprise standards, Agile delivery practices, and quality expectations.
Technical Leadership & Team Development
Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers across automation, lab certification, and mobile packet core domains.
Develop technical depth in 3GPP 5G SA SMF/UPF and LTE/NSA SGW/PGW workflows.
Drive adoption of automation technologies, operational efficiencies, and quality-focused engineering practices.
Foster continuous learning, innovation, technical excellence, and a win-as-one team culture.
Job Qualifications / Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
Expert-level working experience with 3GPP Mobile Packet Core architecture, interfaces, and call flows, with focus on LTE/NSA SGW/PGW and 5G SA SMF/UPF/NRF/MIND/UDR/UDM.
Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting mobility infrastructure, services, lab environments, and distributed networked systems.
Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, UDP/QUIC, SSL/TLS, firewall, NAT/PAT, routing, Ethernet, VLAN, and BGP concepts.
Experience designing reusable, modular, scalable automation frameworks using Python, Ansible or comparable automation platforms, and object-oriented programming practices.
Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, ADO pipelines, ADO agents, ADO Repos, Git branching/tagging strategies, and az CLI usage within pipelines.
3+ years of experience with Regular Expressions and experience creating CLI health checks, validation templates, and automation scripts.
Experience with Kubernetes, YAML, JSON, Robot Framework, Selenium, JavaScript, or comparable testing and automation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Portfolio on GitHub or other platforms demonstrating automation, scripting, testing, or infrastructure-as-code work.
Experience with Go, Rust, or similar systems-oriented languages in addition to Python.
Knowledge of MSP/proxy technologies, hybrid virtualized and bare-metal infrastructure, and lab-to-production transition processes.
Experience mentoring teams, leading automation adoption, or driving enterprise automation initiatives.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development and modern automation practices.
Track record of building scalable operational solutions, improving reliability, and increasing team productivity.
Additional Job Information
This is an offshore role that requires daily collaboration with U.S. stakeholders, including overlapping work hours to ensure effective partnership and meet business needs.
