The Role

This is a hybrid role based out of Anaheim. This is not a remote role.

We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
This role sits in the Disneyland Ticketing Technology organization within Disney Experiences. The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Manager of Disneyland Ticketing Delivery.
Responsibilities

  • You may lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
  • You may perform testing and debugging of applications
  • Your code may either be used in commercial and end-user applications or may focus on software and tools in support of infrastructure and technology platforms
  • You will code at the component level
  • Work will typically be large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
  • You have a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, writing code, and completing programming
  • You may interact with users to define system requirements and/or vital modifications
  • You will conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
  • You will design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications

  • Java, Node JS, the Spring Framework, Services/MicroServices Architecture, .NET, C#, cloud experience (AWS), Python, Relational Database Skills (MS SQL, AuroraDB), Non-SQL (e.g. MongoDB), Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics), Consul/Vault, mobile development, hybrid or mobile hybrid experience


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience developing Java and C# .NET applications
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to make quick decisions to tackle common technical and operational challenges
  • Familiar working on projects with distributed teams, making use of technology and processes to overcome the challenges of working with remote staff
  • You have a mentorship mentality and look for opportunities to mentor and lead small projects and initiatives within your team
  • You can adapt to a fast-paced environment, and you are comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Proficient in Java, Spring framework, .NET/C#, Services design patterns and development, RESTful APIs, Cloud hosting, CI/CD, SQL Development (MS SQL, AuroraDB), Docker, GitHub, monitoring/logging tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics), and a desire to develop further technical skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience/familiarity with Node JS, MicroServices Architecture, Python, Relational Database Non-SQL (e.g. MongoDB), Kubernetes, Consul/Vault, Flutter, mobile development, hybrid or mobile hybrid experience


Required Education

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience


The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $163,100.00 to $182,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
