This position is on-site and may be located at our offices in San Diego CA, Irvine CA, or Centennial CO.
Axos Bank is looking for an experienced, product-oriented Sr Software Developer - to join our software engineering team and help ensure that the experience of our clients is second to none. This development group is focused on building the next generation of our online banking application. This role will utilize full-stack AI development; designing interactive web applications with either .NET, Java, Angular and/or React, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs. Our goal is to create a seamless, all-in-one experience for our customers, and provide a platform that gives customers a full, 360 degree view of their financials. This includes everything from banking, investing/trading, wealth management/planning, etc. You will lead a team of developers focused on both building out new capabilities as well as enhancing existing products within the platform. Our roadmap also includes migrating the platform to microservices-based containers running on AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining related infrastructure and platform according to client's changing requirement.
  • Advises developers on best methods of software development and code creation.
  • Participating all phases of software engineering life cycle and troubleshooting technical problems as needed.
  • Participating in sprint planning meeting to discuss the latest requirements of software development and determining the following tasks.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate requirements into technical specifications for AI-driven solutions
  • Deliver scalable, secure, and production-grade AI applications on cloud platforms
  • Writing clean, scalable, and documented code
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML and advocate for the adoption of new technologies and techniques

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years' of full-stack .NET development; designing interactive web applications with either Angular and/or React, developing web services (REST/SOAP), and integrating with vendor APIs
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
  • Proficiency with the following technologies: .NET framework, C#, Java, JavaScript, MVC, Angular 10, TypeScript, jQuery, SQL Server, Cursor, Swagger Docs
  • Proven ability designing and implementing responsive SPA's
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodology/concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Possess an exceptional work ethic, be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and have the ability to independently manage a workload with multiple priorities
  • Possess a solid understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry
  • Cloud-native AI services (e.g., Azure AI Foundry or Google Vertex AI)
  • AI/LLM-powered applications, developer tools, or observability platforms (e.g. Langchain framework)
  • A “get stuff done” attitude—comfortable shipping fast and iterating based on user feedback
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
