We are looking for a Sr. Software Database Engineer to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions! This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best-in-class service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
In this role as a Software Database Engineer, you will determine system information requirements by analyzing data to support the development of enterprise-level or large-scale information systems. The ideal candidate should have experience with AI tools and technologies, even though this role does not include building AI models. The primary focus is on data engineering and analysis rather than the architecture or design of AI systems.
- Meet with business stakeholders and requirements owners to gain a thorough understanding of their needs. Analyze existing data systems to identify relevant data structures and environments that align with those requirements.
- Ensures that the common operating environments are aligned with and meet the standards set for the agency's IT architecture. This includes verifying that the platform's implementation, integration with other systems, and external interfaces comply with the required technical standards and guidelines.
- Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
Qualifications:
- 10 Years of Experience in Data Analysis and Data Modelling and Data transformation.
- 5+ Years of experience with Data Lake experience and Data Lake architecture.
- 8+ Years of experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages.
- 8+ years of experience in providing technical leadership, including mentoring teams on software design, development, and best practices for various frameworks. Proven ability to analyze different technical solutions and present clear recommendations to team leads and clients.
- 8+ years of experience in leading technical planning and implementing solutions for a small software portfolio. This includes authoring and overseeing the development of software designs, managing the evaluation and selection of vendors, and providing well-supported justifications for technical recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise with Microsoft Fabric
- Experience working with AI tools and technologies
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $147,000 to $157,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
