Scope
A Lakeland Industries a Senior Software Analyst is an experienced IT professional responsible for analyzing business needs, designing software solutions, and overseeing the implementation and troubleshooting of software systems to ensure they meet organizational goals. They bridge the gap between business processes and technical solutions, often taking on project management, business analysis, and leadership roles within Agile/DevOps environments. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, managing backlogs, facilitating development teams, and ensuring the technical correctness and efficiency of software systems. 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Business Process Analysis: Understanding and documenting business processes to identify areas for software improvement. 
  • Software Design: Designing and specifying software systems and features that align with business needs and stakeholder expectations. 
  • Requirement Gathering: Working with stakeholders to define requirements, define acceptance criteria, and maintain prioritized product backlogs. 
  • Project Management: Overseeing the delivery of IT projects, including managing resources, timelines, and budget. 
  • Team Leadership: Leading and facilitating Agile teams through events like sprint planning and retrospectives, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. 
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving technical issues within software systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations. 
  • Technical Guidance: Providing expert technical advice and guidance to other team members. 
Education and Certifications
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in a STEM related field from an accredited institution.
  • Software industry professional certifications, preferred, but not required.
Skills and Qualifications 
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive work experience as a member and then a leader on a software development team.
  • Extensive experience in software design, implementation and support, following SDLC principles.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies like Agile and DevOps.  SCRUM being strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like C++, Java, and C#.  C# and Visual Studio being strongly preferred.
  • SAP Public Cloud experience preferred, not required, but strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in ANSI SQL, database design, and developing complex SQL queries.  Implementing 3rd Normal Form Principles, preferably T-SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate collaboration between technical and business teams.
Travel Requirements and Work Location
  • Minimal travel requirements, rare, but up to 10% of the time, as needed.
  • This is a full-time position located in Huntsville, AL.  No remote work available.
  • Lakeland Industries, Inc. is a multi-national company with offices, distribution centers and manufacturing facilities around the world.  Time zone respective virtual meetings may be required.
