Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake & dbt Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Warehousing, and Analytics Engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt (Data Build Tool), SQL, ETL/ELT development, and Azure cloud platform. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions to support enterprise analytics and reporting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake and dbt.
- Build and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and load large-scale data from multiple sources.
- Develop reusable and modular dbt models, macros, tests, snapshots, and documentation.
- Implement dimensional data models including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for reporting and analytics.
- Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, clustering, partitioning, and warehouse sizing.
- Design and implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and automated validations using dbt.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Business Stakeholders, and Product teams to understand requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for dbt deployments and automate data workflows.
- Ensure data governance, security, compliance, and best practices within Snowflake environments.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and data lineage documentation.
- Mentor junior data engineers and establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as: Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Understanding of data governance, security, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Experience handling structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML, Parquet, Avro).
Nice To Have: Knowledge in HRMS or Finance data
Skills Required
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud data warehousing, and analytics engineering
- Strong expertise with Snowflake
- Strong expertise with dbt Data Build Tool
- Strong SQL expertise
- Experience developing ETL and ELT pipelines
- Experience with the Azure cloud platform
