Position Summary
The SAP Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership across SAP S/4 HANA Brownfield Migration project along with
implementation, upgrade, migration, and support project at this A & D end clients. This role partners closely with business
stakeholders, functional consultants, architects, and development teams to design, develop, and
deliver scalable SAP solutions that align with business objectives.
The SAP Technical Lead serves as the primary technical authority for SAP development activities,
integrations, custom enhancements, data migration, and technical architecture. This position leads
onsite and offshore teams while ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, quality standards, and
project delivery commitments.
This role is ideal for a senior SAP technical professional who can bridge business requirements and
SAP S/4 HANA technology while leading complex SAP transformation programs and technical delivery teams
MUST HAVE 2-3 prior S/4 HANA Brownfield Migrations
PMMO = Project Manufacturing Management & Optimization prior experience strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities
Technical leadership and solution architecture
Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of SAP solutions.
Define technical standards, development frameworks, and best practices.
Review functional requirements and translate them into technical solution designs.
Ensure scalability, maintainability, security, and performance of SAP applications.
Provide technical guidance to developers, technical consultants, and project teams.
SAP development and integration
Lead development activities across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, Fiori, BTP, ABAP, and related SAP
technologies.
Design and oversee custom developments, enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms,
workflows, and conversions.
Manage integration solutions between SAP and non-SAP applications using APIs,
middleware, IDocs, OData, web services, and cloud integration technologies.
Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide resolution strategies.
SAP transformation and migration
Support SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
Lead technical conversion activities, including custom code remediation, integration
redesign, and technical readiness assessments.
Collaborate with data migration teams on data extraction, conversion, validation, and
reconciliation activities.
Participate in cutover planning, mock conversions, dress rehearsals, and go-live activities.
Project delivery and governance
Lead technical project workstreams from project initiation through deployment and support.
Develop technical estimates, project plans, and resource requirements.
Monitor project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
Ensure delivery milestones are achieved on schedule and within budget.
Provide technical status updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
Team leadership and mentoring
Lead and mentor SAP technical consultants and developers.
Support knowledge transfer, training, and skill development initiatives.
Coordinate activities across onsite, offshore, and vendor teams.
Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the technical team.
Operational support and optimization
Provide technical leadership for production support and AMS engagements.
Drive root cause analysis and issue resolution efforts.
Identify opportunities for system optimization, automation, and process improvements.
Support performance tuning and system stability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related
field.
8-12+ years of SAP technical experience.
3-6+ years of experience leading SAP technical teams or workstreams.
Proven experience delivering SAP implementation, migration, or transformation projects.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience working in global delivery environments with onsite and offshore teams.

Requirements

MUST have 2-3 Brownfield migration projects S/4 HANA
PMMO is an SAP capability used primarily in project-based manufacturing environments (A&D, industrial manufacturing, engineer-to-order).
