Job Description
We’re looking for a passionate, energetic, flexible, and reliable individual who has experience in the Event Management Industry who will utilize their network contacts and develop new network contacts to secure new business. Our ideal candidate will be extremely self-motivated, driven, committed and a dedicated team player. To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter who is ready to perform on day one.

Successful candidates will have the following:
- 10+ years of experience in event management or a related industry (sales, business development, account management, or operations).
- Industry experience includes: Hotels, Destination Management, Production, Tradeshows, Travel Director roles, etc.
- Deep understanding of both live and virtual event management, including registration platforms, logistics, production, creative strategy, travel coordination, and attendee engagement programs.
- Expertise in turning key relationships into long-term clients and driving significant account growth.
- Extensive experience negotiating and contracting with hotels and venues for programs of up to 3,000 attendees.
- In-depth knowledge of business-to-business sales processes, from prospecting and business development to complex account management and closing high-value deals.
- Proven success in managing relationships with DMCs, creative agencies, media, and production companies.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy and experiential marketing as it relates to event planning.
- A demonstrated record of successful event execution across a variety of platforms, using innovative approaches.
- Ability to travel as needed ~ 30-50%
Communication Skills:
- Proven ability to influence senior executives, including C-Suite clients, to drive new business and build long-term strategic partnerships
- Expert-level presentation skills for client pitches, proposals, and project updates, both in person and virtually
- Superior written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for high-value accounts, delivering outstanding client service while driving revenue growth
Leadership Abilities:
- Proven leadership in managing and mentoring sales teams, fostering collaboration across departments (sales, marketing, operations, etc.), and driving team performance toward shared goals
- Demonstrated ability to define sales strategies, set aggressive targets, and implement plans that exceed revenue and growth goals
- Ability to work with senior leadership to shape the direction of the sales function, contributing to overall company strategy and growth initiatives
- Track record of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining oversight of all key deliverables
Analytical Skills:
- Proficient with CRM platforms for managing client pipelines, reporting, and developing actionable insights to drive strategic sales decisions
- High competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Adobe, and event management platforms such as Cvent
- Ability to analyze industry trends and client data, developing tailored action plans and communications that address client-specific needs and market opportunities.

- Generate revenue using a consultative selling approach to build new client relationships
- Lead with a value-driving message and proposition that highlights our ability to generate award-winning work around events and experiential marketing
- Leverage sound business acquisition and retention strategies to cultivate both new and existing business relationships
- Work collaboratively with our account management teams to provide excellent client service across all accounts
- Understand, and display clear understanding of our full suite of services
- Identify and develop new business through personal sales efforts targeted to prospective accounts
- Maintain accurate documentation of all account contact and sales activities
- Call on high level, key decision makers and close opportunities for face-to-face appointments
- Use effective organizational skills to successfully manage call lists
- Distribute company marketing material to prospective buyers

- Proposal Development
- Lead Sales Pitches to new and existing clients
- Develop positive relationships with all departments and support client business with project research and sourcing
- Job requires some evening and weekend hours preparing proposals and attending industry functions such as hotel presentations, tradeshows, industry events, etc.
