Sr. Quality Control Spec
Job Summary
Plan and perform inspections to determine the conformance of materials, components, systems, procedures, or structures to predetermined requirements. Incumbents are certified to an appropriate level of qualification in accordance with the applicable national standards depending on discipline, education, experience, training, and successful completion of testing or practical demonstrations.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Verify by observation that modification and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved plant procedures, specifications, and drawings.
2. Review modification and maintenance work packages and independently plan inspection activities including preparation of inspection checklists.
3. Perform inspections of materials to ensure compliance with the requirements of Procurement Documents, station design standards, and procedures.
4. Perform inspections on weekends, backshifts and other irregular hours as required.
5. Represent Quality Assurance with various site work groups in an objective and professional manner.
6. Participate in audits and assessments or visit vendors as source inspectors. Interact with third party organizations such as INPO, NRC or vendors.
Basic Qualifications
1. A minimum of a High School graduate or equivalent.
2. A minimum of Four (4) years of Nuclear Power Plant experience
3. Practical knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical trades, including four years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical trades or discipline with ability to successfully certify as an inspector in accordance with ANSI/ASME N45.2.6.
4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with work groups and management.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous or current Nondestructive Examination (NDE) certification (MT, PT, VT, RT, UT).
2. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft office suite (excel, word and powerpoint).
3. Previous or current certification as a level II or Level III QC Inspector may be substituted for Nuclear Power Plant experience.
