The Senior Project Scheduler will offer our clients comprehensive project management support, including cost engineering, scheduling, earned value management, and project-level services. The primary objective of the Senior Project Scheduler is to provide in-country scheduling support, with a strong emphasis on adhering to the client's standard procedures for managing large projects.
- Cost engineering and Primavera (P6) schedule support/guidance as required to the construction contractors to ensure required reporting is provided to accomplish EVMS monitoring/reporting,
- Verify that the progress reported is the actual state of completion in the field.
- Support the PMO in understanding the basis of the data provided and the reports/impact of metrics produced from the client’s project management control system.
- Review baseline schedules for Project Engineers and upload comments in RMS as a secondary reviewer.
- Review monthly schedules for project engineers and upload comments to RMS as a secondary reviewer.
- Discuss updated schedules, critical paths, and one-week/two-week look-ahead schedules with the contractor in weekly/biweekly meetings.
- Review monthly payments and other reports submitted by a construction contractor.
- Ensure the construction contractors provide proper information to support EVMS reporting, including schedule progress based on defined performance measurement techniques, actual cost at the appropriate level (minimum WBS Level 4 of USACE WBS/Dictionary—prefer steps of WBS Level 4), and projections such as estimate at completion (EAC).
- Support the PMO in understanding the basis of the data provided to the client and the reports/impact of metrics produced by the client’s project management control system.
- Support the development and execution of the change control process.
- Provide briefings (internal & external) as requested.
- Assist in corrective actions related to reporting, forecasting, change control, and performance.
- Maintain listing and status of outstanding issues of record and corrective actions.
- Compare actual progress of construction activities with progress claimed by the Contractor in progress payments and make corrections, if required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Knowledge of capital cost and services cost.
- Knowledge of scope change management.
- Intermediate engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes knowledge.
- Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications including, but not limited to, Oracle P6 and Acumen Fuse.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost problems.
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a related industry
- Knowledge in the use of computers and several basic software applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for executing work processes
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organization skills.
- Cost engineering/project management certification is preferred. If no current certification exists, one must be eligible to attain certification within one year of employment.
- Work is typically performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
- Work may involve walking, climbing on construction sites
