ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sr. Project Designer position will:
- create comprehensive design packages (submittals, production drawings, installation drawings, sketches, and prototypes)
- coordinate frequently with clients, project managers, and our in-house fabrication departments over the life of each complex architectural project
- create and maintain design schedules; manage shifting priorities; ensure project deadlines are met
- practice a continual improvement philosophy to reduce project costs
- specify materials to be used on project and ensure specifications adhere to client, project, and local jurisdiction standards
- be able to lead a team of designers; mentor junior colleagues; facilitate collaboration to meet project deadlines and deliverables
- work on several projects concurrently
- verify the site dimensions in the field, both internal and adjacent scope, to ensure proper fit
- practice astute management of risk, resources, timelines, quality, and expectations
ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- 6+ years' experience in architectural/industrial design, ideally in a design-build and/or high-end custom setting
- a strong understanding of building systems, materials, construction methods, and architectural detailing
- some hands-on fabrication experience and/or exposure to multiple materials and fabrication processes
- proficiency in SolidWorks
- post-secondary education in architecture, engineering, industrial design, or similar
- experience in managing large-scale, complex architectural/industrial design projects
- 3+ years experience in leading teams and mentorship
