SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Accountant will be primarily responsible for various short-term and long-term

special projects that may include researching account discrepancies, analyzing inconsistencies,

resolving and eventually proposing any adjustments or process flow changes needed, while managing a

reasonable timeframe for each project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze GL transactions in Net suite for selected balance sheet and income statement accounts in
  • various accounting elements, which includes but is not limited to fixed assets, inventory, operating
  • and lease accounting, reconciliation issues.
  • Prepare workpapers and analyze account reconciliations to determine if updates/corrections areneeded.
  • Review and understand current processes and propose improvements in areas of material weakness.
  • Record accruals, reclassification and adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate month end account balances.
  • Analyze general and administrative expense current vs. prior month variances.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable, operating divisions, finance, and management to understand and identify accurate account balances and practices in accordance with Generally Accepted
  • Accounting Principles.
  • Prepare working papers and schedules for the Company’s interim and fiscal year-end audit and calendar year-end tax return.
  • Lead, participate and contribute to system enhancement and process improvement projects.
  • Seek out opportunities to participate in progressively complex assignments as they arise and as skills are demonstrated.

Requirements

 QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

REQUIRED:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Four to six years of general accounting experience with progressively increased responsibility.
  • Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills utilizing v-lookups and pivot tables. Net suite experience a plus.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to embrace change in a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity.
  • Detail oriented, highly self-motivated, positive team-player attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A professional manner necessary for collaborative interaction with Corporate and operating division personnel.

DESIRABLE:  

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical group environment.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and electronic health record (EHR)/EMR systems (e.g., CareCloud).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPA a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • This is primarily a sedentary office classification but may require field visits and driving. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch. 
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • NetSuite experience
  • CPA or MBA
  • Experience in healthcare or medical group environment
