The position partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and support business-critical initiatives. This role operates with a high degree of independence, managing complex sourcing events and contributing to category-level planning and process improvements.Responsibilities
1.By commodities, lead execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with production timelines, cost targets, and plant-specific operational and regulatory constraints.
2. Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and quality.
3. Manage supplier selection decision making and supplier awarding.
4. Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including development and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring alignment with business requirements, cost objectives, risk mitigation, and regulatory/compliance standards.
5. Develop plans to establish continuity of supply in support of plant build plans and spare part demand plans..
6. Ensure quality, delivery, order accuracy, and competitive pricing through continuous follow-up with suppliers and end users.
7. Makes recommendations on the use of alternate materials, evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance.
8. Visits suppliers to assess supplier capability to meet quality, delivery and strategic requirements. Must deal with all levels of supplier management.
9. Conducts all purchasing activities in compliance with company policy and objectives.
10. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, and ethical standard.
11. Maintain SAP system purchasing data to ensure MRP requirements are generated in a proper manner.
12. Work with SAP Data Administration team to create material numbers and vendor profiles in SAP.
13. Coaches, trains and mentor other employees i.e. Procurement Specialists.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-10 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing in the industrial or medical application of production goods
- Strong negotiation, communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good Knowledge of SAP ERP
- Strong decision-making skills and high sense of urgency
- Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to travel a minimum of 30% of the time and have the ability to obtain a valid passport.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with outside vendors/ suppliers
