As a Principal QA Engineer, you will be a technical leader, driving the strategy and execution of product feature verification for Optical DWDM Equipment and Protocol verification (OTN, GBE, DWDM, System Security). Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for the team to deliver Product Features across multiple releases.
- Develop the overall strategy for Optical DWDM Equipment and Protocol verification (OTN, GBE, DWDM, System Security).
- Review Product Requirements for features and estimate efforts, equipment, and schedule for release commitments.
- Review System Requirements and develop comprehensive Test strategies and Test plans to validate System Features and Customer deployment use cases.
- Develop cross-functional feature test scripts based on system requirements and Test plans.
- Manage Automation framework development/maintenance and Script/Suite execution, including analysis of failures.
- Collaborate with System Engineering, Test, Design, and Architecture teams on requirements and testing strategies.
- Provide detailed reports on test execution, defect analysis, resolution of defects, and an independent Quality view for Feature deployment.
You have:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with 10+ years of experience in System Testing one or more of the areas like Certifying Optical Networks (SONET/SDH/OTN/DWDM) systems in a product development environment and expertise in relevant standards. Certifying of ROADM, Optical amplifier line cards
- Expertise in optical and software design for optical equipment’s that fit into a network node
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or other relevant scripting languages.
- Experience in Automation framework development/maintenance, script/suite execution, and analysis of failures.
- Strong knowledge and experience in testing FCAPS, Provisioning & configuration, protection schemes, and Optical Controls, along with the usage of Test-set and OSA test equipment
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in system testing across multiple product releases and collaborating with customer support teams to address field escalations during deployments
