Organization Overview:

The Data Architect role will be part of the Sesto MQ T@L team. This position is responsible for maintaining and evolving the site's data architecture vision, strategy, and principles.

The Data Architect has deep knowledge of how data is or will be used and understands the implications for people, processes, capabilities, and technologies, including analytics and data integrations. This role requires skills such as data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data governance, and an understanding of data security, data standards, and cloud architecture principles.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a vision and strategy for data and information, working with Data Engineers to identify current and future uses for data and enable processes to support these needs.
  • Plan, model, and design the data lifecycle, maintaining and evolving a technical strategy for data structure and integration in alignment with site needs and global standards.
  • Provide expertise in enterprise data domains, including data relationships, data quality, and the associated technology toolsets and methodologies.
  • Develop understanding of how enterprise data strategies, platforms, and technologies enable business execution.
  • Collaborate with Data Advisors, other technology teams, and Data Architects at other sites to share knowledge and best practices, prioritize, and replicate solutions.
  • Continuously scan the technology environment for new trends and techniques in data management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in several of the following disciplines: data modeling, ontology development, semantic graph construction and linked data, relational schema design, and statistical methods.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and data modeling, with experience using data modeling tools.
  • Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Experience with security models and development on large data sets.
  • Experience with multiple database technologies and solutions.
  • Ability to analyze large, complex data domains and craft practical solutions for subsequent data exploitation via analytics.
  • Ability to review and provide practical recommendations on design patterns, performance considerations and optimization, database versions, and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledgeable in data functions such as Data Governance, Master Data Management, and Business Intelligence.
  • Experience in migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud and knowledge of multiple data ingestion patterns.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and interest in innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a geographically dispersed group of business and technical colleagues.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Additional skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing business processes and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Leadership skills and experience in providing technical coaching and feedback for business analysts, technology professionals, and quality professionals.
  • Experience in vendor management.

This position includes a provision for remote work up to four days per month, in line with company policy.
