Community Talent Partners is seeking an experienced Senior MES Engineer on behalf of a client in the industrial automation sector, based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
This position requires a seasoned professional with demonstrated technical proficiency in software design, configuration, and integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The ideal candidate will serve as a technical lead and solution architect, guiding clients and engineering teams through the entire lifecycle of MES solution development—from requirements and platform evaluation to implementation, testing, and commissioning.
This is a leadership-level role that combines engineering expertise, business insight, and project management to deliver high-performance MES solutions that improve production efficiency, regulatory compliance, and data connectivity across manufacturing systems.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and deployment of MES solutions integrating with Level 2 and Level 4 systems.
Collaborate directly with clients to define requirements, select platforms, and develop technical specifications.
Act as a solution architect—conceptualizing and implementing MES strategies that enhance productivity, compliance, and traceability.
Manage project execution plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Oversee daily project operations, ensuring quality, profitability, and on-time delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians; provide leadership and technical guidance across project teams.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, including cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and GAMP5.
Develop and maintain system interfaces with platforms such as DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, and Maximo.
Support data-driven process improvements through MES analytics and reporting.
Build and sustain client relationships that drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Sciences (required).
10+ years of experience delivering MES solutions within industrial or life sciences environments.
Hands-on experience with Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS platforms.
Proven success leading all phases of MES projects—concept design, implementation, start-up, and commissioning.
Expertise in EBR recipe design using S88, S95, and GAMP5 standards.
Strong familiarity with regulated manufacturing processes (pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP settings).
Proficient in SQL, Oracle, and relational databases.
Strong understanding of IT/OT networking, data historians, and reporting systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Experience mentoring engineers and managing project teams.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Standard office and on-site industrial environments.
Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
May involve light physical activity, such as driving, lifting, and equipment setup.
