Anchor Fabrication is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Denton, TX. 

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to the following, other duties may be applied;


    1. Tooling, jig, and fixture design experience required.
    2. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
    3. Understanding of Control Plan, Bill of Materials, and Manufacturing Work Instructions required.
    4. Support the Manufacturing areas as needed!
    5. Being able to multitask on multiple jobs/projects that can change at any time.
    6. Ability to convey information to operators with a lesser skill level.
    7. Take a formed drawing and mentally unfold the flat pattern.
    8. Being able to troubleshoot programming issues with limited support or supervision.
    9. Being able to troubleshoot machinery issues with limited support or supervision.
    10. Travel Requirements: When needed for training purposes.
    11. Has the Authority and Responsibility to report non-conforming product
    12. Participates and provides support to the Quality Department on PPAP submissions
    13. Conducts Time Studies in manufacturing areas to optimize processes.

 

  1. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
    1. Collaborate with product designers to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
    2. Develop detailed engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
    3. Participates in the development of PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow diagrams.
    4. Partners with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges.
    5. Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or performance.
    6. Support prototype builds and oversees transition to full-scale manufacturing.
    7. Familiarity with Romer Arm or CMM measuring equipment/PCDMIS software is desirable.
    8. Proficient with GD&T
    9. Interfaces with Customer Engineering team and conducts weekly reviews of new projects.
    10. Leads the implementation of new manufacturing processes.
    11. Basic understanding of automation and error proofing principles to enable defect prevention, and detection is highly desirable.
    12. Ability to design inspection devices and check fixtures.
    13. Basic understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
    14. Familiar with PPAP, APQP process, Gauge R&R, Process capability studies desirable.
    15. An automotive industry background desirable.

 

  1. Education Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
    2. 3+ years of experience in product design and manufacturing processes development and implementation.
    3. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software AutoCAD
    4. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal forming, bending, and sheet metal fabrication.
    5. Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
    6. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form  
    7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    8. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
